Technical and Vocational Education and Training

Objectives

To assist Romania’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system in the process towards accession to the EU in 2007.

Description

The project will run for about 13 months, and represents the third stage of a longitudinal Phare program that started in 1995 (VET Reform Programme) and was continued by the Technical Assistance for Institution Building Program.

The program aims at establishing consistency between national, regional and local level by implementing a sustainable information flow in the system. It will build and formalise the role of social partners, and it will create networks of schools. Schools will be encouraged to include students at risk and with special needs. Resource Centers will be supported in their efforts to have a more prominent and effective role. Best practices in European countries will be studied, both in Romania but also during study tours to UK, Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium.

For more information on the project, see the website of the Ministry of Education and Research (www.tvet.ro).

The project will be conducted by a consortium of WYG International (lead partner) (www.wyg.com) and APS International
