Every 5 years APS celebrates. It picks a theme, and it invites its clients, friends and partners to join in. In 2004 once again we had the pleasure to organize conferences, seminars and a huge party for our clients, friends and partners, but of course also for ourselves.

An important element in this year's celebration was the publication of 'Scenery in Motion, Perspectives on Learning'. In this book APS experts together with clients (most of these being schools) present the core business of the organization. And for the first time the work APS does abroad was chosen to be part of this book. This indicates that we regard our work outside The Netherlands as an important part of our core business.

The authors (Mrs Marja van der Hagen and Frans Vanderwilt) have interviewed the director of APS International and three long time partners from Brazil, Uganda and Germany. Together they picture the ambitions of a rather young branch of APS activities, but also the lessons we still have to master. We at APS are happy to work with partners who are willing to be frank and open in their reviews on our work there. We hope to encounter many more in nearby future.
